You've got a really solid 0.1 release. Watching it vs. some of the top bots, it looks like you'll be able to gain a lot more score by keeping Saguaro from getting stuck on walls and corners. Keep it up!
Thanks! And yes, better performance against strong bots is one of the main things I am working on right now. In theory Saguaro 0.1 models the energy lost from wall hits and works that into its plan evaluations, but I think that it often ends up in situations where almost all of its candidate paths involve wall hits so I'll have to improve the path generation from being purely random. One thing I did realize while working on this bot though is that allowing your bot to hit the wall can actually be very beneficial against weak bots; it's the fastest way to reverse direction when you are close to a wall and the energy lost doesn't matter if it isn't likely to affect the round's outcome.
