What's the most recommended movement when you're not allowed to use Advanced Robot and your robot needs to be good at melee and 1 on 1? Right now my robot moves up and down one wall. Then when it gets to a corner it scans. I'm wondering if there's a movement type out there that is better for my situation and will increase my odds of winning.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Starhammy (talkcontribs)

Well, I think it is Minimum Risk Movement, see Girl for sample implementation. --Nat Pavasant 11:00, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Then you're immediately talking about the #1 Robot. When you're fighting in exclusively Robot battle, moving up and down a wall is not that bad. However, scanning a bit more frequently seems better, as you can collect more data about your opponents. With more data, you can fire a bit more reliable, but don't fire to often to save energy. Knowing what your opponents will do and act on it is the key here. Getting out of the crowd is good in melee, staying close and scan (and fire) often is probably better in 1 on 1. --GrubbmGait 11:58, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
