An enemy wave that is created before detection of an energy drop by tracking the enemy's gun heat and assuming he will fire as soon as possible. This gives a Wave Surfing robot extra ticks to begin surfing the wave.

If created on the same tick that the enemy's gun heat reaches zero, the only information lacking is the bullet power used by the enemy, which can be guesstimated. Creating gun heat waves earlier than that requires projecting enemy movement.

This technique is extremely useful in close combat, where there is limited time to surf each wave. Even if there is already one wave in the air, an extra 1-2 ticks can greatly impact how much of the new wave you can reach. In situations where the reachable points on the nearest wave are all of similar danger, it's advantageous to be able to take the second wave's dangers into account.
