These bots attempt to ram an opponent into submision. As ram damage counts twice as much as normal (and the ram kill bonus is also double), this seems like a very valid strategy. Unfortunately, there are two problems. First, ramming someone who isn't almost dead does as much damage to you as it does to your opponent. This means you're also giving your opponent ram damage as well as to yourself. Second, when attempting to close with someone to ram them, you are giving them a really, really easy target to hit. Even a simple 'fire at where the opponent currently is'-routine will hit a bot attempting to ram you. That said, ramming can be useful if you know your opponent is out of energy (and therefore can't shoot you), or you're already really close to them and have a significant lead in energy. Ramming is a horrible strategy for Melee though. Even if you kill a bot, you are usually left with no energy with which to face the rest of your opponents.
