RoboLeague
Hello, I teach robocode for high school AP computer science class about this time every year for the past five years. I've been following the wiki throughout the years as well. I use Roboleague to have all the robots compete against each other.
However, this year I gave the students the latest version of robocode (instead of 1.0.6). I have been unable to get RoboLeague to work correctly with this version- it runs the season, but does not output the results. The html file is generated, but only contains the league settings. Unfortunately, I only just now discovered this problem and I'm suppoosed to be getting the results this weekend!
I'm not much of a programming expert (robocode is the only java I know!), so I would very much appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Thank you, and it's nice to finally speak up on the wiki after all these years of lurking. -Spyder
- You could always enter the bots into the rumble and rank them against the world. How many bots are there? If alot, enter them sooner and perhaps have your computer lab help with the distributed processing power to stablize the ranks. Besides, it's always nice to have students see how competitive there stuff is against each other and the world :) --Miked0801 15:17, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hey, welcome. =) RoboLeague stopped working with current versions of Robocode at some point, I haven't tried it for a while. The current tool of choice for batch processing is RoboResearch, so you could give that a try. (There's some additional info about setting it up, plus a melee-compatible version, on its talk page.) Or you could use 1.07 with RoboLeague, which you could grab here. Entering the bots in the rumble is not a bad idea, either - how many students are there? Best of luck. --Voidious 15:37, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
