No last survivor bonus being given

I've been running some battle recently and only just noticed that the last survivor bonus always seems to be 0. No matter how many wins a robot has. Is this a bug or a new version of the scoring? This is sometimes lowering the final score of some bots by a considerable amount.

A battle where no last survivor bonus is being awarded

Looks like a bug. Have you tried previous versions to see when it started?

MN (talk)20:33, 12 August 2013

Just tried 1.8.1.0 and 1.7.3.5. The bug is there is 1.8.1.0, but in 1.7.3.5, the scores are correctly given.

You should post the bug in sourceforge.

And we might have to reset the rumble later.

Yeah, please do report the bug. We use 1.8.1.0 in the rumble. I wonder if/how much this affects the Melee/Teams rankings... But it shouldn't affect 1v1 since the % score is the same whether you get 50 or 60 for a 1st (as long as you get 0 for a 2nd).

In 1v1, % score benefits survivalists slightly less if survival bonus is not taken in account.

% score is: (winnerSurvBonus + winnerOtherScores) / (winnerSurvBonus + winnerOtherScores + loserOtherscores)

Assuming the loser scored more than zero, the denominator is always higher than the numerator, and higher surv bonus increases % score.

Only Twin Duel will remain the same, since it uses survival 1sts alone.

Oh, you're right of course. It won't affect "Survival" score in 1v1 is what I was thinking about, but it will affect regular score.

I have reported the bug and it looks like fnl is working on it.

How does one report a bug? Is a SourceForge account required?

Sheldor (talk)18:42, 14 August 2013

To report bugs or request improvements, yes, an account is required.

Suppression of results dialog box

I'd like to see an option to suppress the results dialog box. I am experimenting with GA/GP evolution of RoboCode robots and would like, occasionally, to run this with the GUI active. However, the dialog box keeps popping up over the arena window.

Scratch that. I have found an option to turn off the results dialog box. However, it would be good to document such options as they are rather hidden away. Again, maybe this is more relevant for the RoboCode main web site.

I guess the most discoverable location for this option would be in the results dialog itself. (I also almost always prefer it hidden.) But it's true that the wiki is mostly bot authors and not Robocode developers - a better place might be the Robocode developers Google group or to report a bug at Sourceforge.
